76 years old, Parkinson’s, and still rockin’ it! God bless Ozzy on his bat throne.
Back to the Beginning – the final show in Birmingham. What an epic send-off.
It blows me away to see the original four – Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward playing together for the first time in forever, 57 years on.
Black Sabbath Intro from 36:25 in this clip - be quick!
Back and forth on the WhatsApp fam chat this morning, sharing clips. My dad: “Special moment in rock history. How many other songs are being played after 55 years.”
“Cuz Phil used to roll round the floor 🤣 to Paranoid, used to go crazy 🤪! Thought we were gonna have to have him sectioned!”
Amazing to see all ages in the audience – their music will live on.
It’s also really moving and made me cry – you can see Ozzy is desperate to get up and move, but he can’t. He keeps lifting the mic in and out to do the legwork for him.
“I’ve been laid up for SIX years, and you’ve got no idea how I feel.
“It’s so good to be on this fucking stage. Man, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
THANK YOU, boys for livestreaming this – it’s energised me and lifted my spirits after a shitty week. What a gift to the world. 🙏
I’m having a bad RA flare-up and feel wiped out (it’s not Covid), so more inflammation in my body, which comes and goes.
The sausage fingers are back, and I can’t type very well. I've not been sleeping well either, as everything hurts.
It makes me tired and a bit depressed as I’ve tried so hard to get rid of this damn thing. It's affecting my work, so I’m applying for PIP. Don’t know why I haven’t already – not wanting to admit I need help, probably.
As my doc said this week, “Maybe you just need a break.” Yeah. That felt like a permission slip, as you don’t really switch off when you’re self-employed.
Let’s see how I feel after 10 hours of METAL haha ;-) After that, I’ll be onto The Cure 😎
Livestream access to replay until July 7 at 3 pm – all profits are being donated to various charities.
Storytelling and solidarity
I went to the DPAC rally on Monday, protesting against the welfare cuts – a brilliant event. Baking hot and a great turnout.
A patchwork of flags in front of Parliament – Iranian monarchist, Zionist, US and UK, so it was a bit confusing. Some protestors with Israeli flags tried to disrupt the DPAC event. They didn’t like the placards that had #WelfareNotWarfare on them.
They didn’t get very far – people linked arms and came together. As one of the speakers said, disabled people know how to fight, as they have had to fight all their lives.
I took some pics.
Keep going.

I was too late, the youtube upload has been taken down "for copyright reasons".
Hope your RA flare up gets better soon. I take a handful of glucosamine sulphate tablets plus 75mg aspirin each morning to reduce backache, and seems to help a bit (sometimes).
As you imply, anything Ozzie can do you can do… in your own way. Sorry to hear about the pain jag and hope the meds and whatever rhythms it's on see you feeling better pronto. Love and fraternals, Phil
